Encountering Christ. Connecting Community.
The congregation of Christ The King Lutheran Church invites you to join us for worship, faith formation, fellowship and service. We are located on Huguenot Road, on Richmond, Virginia’s south side. We worship at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM on Sundays, with weekly Holy Communion. A nursery for children 9 months to 5 years is provided at both services. We offer Faith Formation for all ages between the services. Our adult, handbell and children’s choirs practice on Wednesday evenings, and our worship band, Cornerstone, rehearses on Thursday evenings.
Our Youth programs serve middle and high school aged young people, providing spaces to ask the questions and struggle with answers that grow their faith. CTK youth participate in Richmond-area activities as well as the Virginia Synod youth events: Seventh Day (5th and 6th grade), Lost and Found (7th and 8th grade) and Winter Celebration (high school). 8th, 9th and 10th graders participate in our Confirmation program, engaging scripture and the Christian traditions.
Our members are active in ministries within the community. We host a quilting ministry and a school supply/backpack ministry that supports Lutheran World Relief. We participate with other local congregations in a Food Bank in Bon Air, VA. We are a host congregation in the CARITAS program. We provide assistance to those in the Virginia Supportive Housing program. For the past three years members traveled to Cristo Rey Lutheran Church in El Salvador to greet our brothers and sisters in Christ and work with them on building projects.
We respond to our calling to support the community we’re in, opening our doors to support groups, musical groups, fitness classes, and neighborhood association gatherings.
We welcome you, young and old, new to the area or long time Richmonder. Join us as we gather in worship and as we go to witness in our mission and vocation.
